Manistee Area Public Schools will be hosting an Enrollment Night on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Manistee Middle High School Auditorium at 525 Twelfth Street in Manistee. Families with new students in kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to attend for this informative presentation about MAPS academic, extracurricular, and student support services.
“We have planned this event to provide information to families who are new to the district, those who may be considering transferring their students to the district, or have MAPS students that are transitioning to a new building next school year. We welcome families to bring their students to this event to learn about the offerings of the district and our administrators will be available to answer any questions they may have,” explained Amber Kowatch, Curriculum Director for Manistee Area Public Schools.
The presentation will share information about the MAPS district, such as:
- Daycare/aftercare/summer care programming
- Specials at each grade level (ie: Art, Music, PE, Technology)
- Extracurricular activities & athletics programs
- Nutrition & Transportation
- Behavioral Health supports/Health Center
- Academic supports & Advanced Placement/Career Tech Education
- Bond project update
Following the presentation there will be an opportunity for a question-and-answer breakout session with the administrators of each school building. Help registering new students for the 2024/25 school year will be available during this event.
“We understand that transferring to a new school or transitioning to a new building can be both an exciting and anxious time for students and families. MAPS administrators are eager to provide the support necessary to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible,” said Kowatch.
Registration is not required. All families are welcome to attend to gather information about enrollment for the 2024/25 school year.
