Flynn Anderson is a Jr. at MHS who is currently participating in the Educator Academy. This is a two year program that allows students to get a head start in becoming an educator.

The first year you earn 7 college credits and 10 credits the second year, for a total of 17 credits towards your college teaching degree.

Anderson says that it is a very good opportunity to see if you enjoy being an educator and it helps you with networking and professional development. It can help with letters of recommendation, portfolio and making a resume. She hopes to transfer and finish her teaching degree and then go into early elementary education.

Every day, for one hour, Anderson goes over to local elementary classrooms to aid a teacher. She gains experience by leading the lessons, working 1 on 1 with students and observing the teacher. In the first year, you get assigned to four different classrooms of different grade levels. In the second year, you get assigned to two different classrooms.
