When Jefferson Elementary’s Second Grader, Kaylin Crummey, receives cans and bottles from generous donors who are aware of her mission of “Spreading Kindness,” she immediately heads to the return center and then turns around and uses the funds for various projects within Manistee.  Kaylin’s biggest project is to purchase and donate toys to the local “Toys for Tots” campaign.
When Kaylin is not shopping for toys, she is thinking of other ways to spread kindness in the community.  Just recently, Kaylin decided that her next “Spreading Kindness” project was to donate something to her school, Jefferson Elementary.  With the arrival of Old Man Winter, Kaylin came up with the idea to donate warm mittens and gloves that could be used by her fellow schoolmates who may need a pair.
Prin. Julia Raddatz was quick to say that “Kaylin is genuinely sweet and thoughtful of others at school and in her community.  At MAPS, we practice being “ON TRACK,” which really highlights kindness — Kaylin truly exemplifies that spirit!”
