YIG Parents and Yigsters:
Wednesday Sept 15th a Parent Informational meeting was held for MMS parents
who have kids interested in YMCA Youth in Government. myig.org
I have attached the Little Caesars Fundraiser Information sheet, the
meeting outline, and Why Michigan YIG for you to refer to. The meeting
outline has links to the Permission to Participate form, YMCA Code of
Conduct, and MAPS Overnight release form. If you need these forms, please
send me an email so that I can print them for you. Please return them to
Mrs. Andrews- Ramsey by *Oct. 7 with a $75.00 Check to MAPS- YIG*.
Students may turn in forms to the MMHS Office. The earlier they turn in
forms the better.
I will be sending a list of meeting dates for Oct and Nov. (Monday and
Thursdays) for 1 hour after school. All meetings will be at MMHS.
*Parents asked about:*
*Rooming:* MMS students will room with students from Manistee MS. Boys
room with boys and girls room with girls. Kids will be 2 to 5 to a room.
They may have to share a bed with another student.
*Topics of discussion:* The YIG delegates (kids) will discuss the topics
they find important. The topic of abortion is prohibited.
It is not too late to get involved in YIG. Spread the word and bring a
friend.
