The Manistee High School Boys Varsity Swim Team made the long trek down to Hamilton on Tuesday, facing off against both Hamilton and Holland High Schools. The Chips emerged victorious over division 2 opponent Holland, winning 111-72. In a tight battle with 5th ranked Hamilton, the team came up just short, 105.5-77.5. Highlights of the meet include state qualifying times for the 200 Medley Relay (consisting of Freshman Alec Lampen, Senior Zach Lee, Sophomore Trevor Adamczak and Senior Griffen Antal), the 400 Freestyle Relay (Junior Seth Thompson, Senior Dylan Johnson, Senior Ben Sullivan, and Adamczak) and Lampen in the 100 Backstroke. Lampen also set a new school record with his backstroke win and state cut of 57.66. Additional event winners include Sullivan in both the 200 and 500 Freestyles, and Lee in the 200 IM. The Chips return to action on Saturday, facing off against Ottawa Hills at the Paine Aquatic Center, with competition set to begin at 10am.
