The Manistee Boys Swim Team competed against visiting Ottawa Hills at home on Saturday, winning with a score of 105 to 71. The Chips lit up the pool on the dark and snowy day, winning 8 out of 12 events and logging numerous season and career bests, including a few more state qualifying times. The 200 Freestyle Relay Team of Sophomore Trevor Adamczak, Freshman Alec Lampen, Junior Seth Thompson and Senior Dylan Johnson cleared the mark with ease, while Senior Ben Sullivan logged his first ever individual state cut with a winning time of 5:07.29 in the 500 Freestyle. Additional event winners include the 200 Medley Relay (Thompson, Senior Zach Lee, Lampen and Sullivan), Adamczak in the 200 Freestyle, Lampen in the 200 Individual Medley, Johnson in the 50 Freestyle, Thompson in the 100 Freestyle, and Lee in the 100 Breaststroke. The team returns to competition on the road Tuesday evening, facing off against conference rivals Ludington. The meet will be live-streamed on the Donald C Baldwin Community Pool Facebook page, beginning at 6pm.
