The Manistee Boys Swim Team competed against Mona Shores Co-op on Thursday night, earning wins in 11 different events. Sophomore Trevor Adamczak earned his first individual state qualifying time with his win in the 100 Backstroke, and also notched a win in the 50 Freestyle. Additional event winners include Freshman Alec Lampen (200 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly), Senior Ben Sullivan (200 IM and 100 Breaststroke), Junior Seth Thompson (500 Freestyle) and sophomore birthday boy Tug Thuemmel (100 Freestyle). The Chips also swept all 3 relays, with the team of Thompson, Sullivan, Senior Dylan Johnson, and Adamczak winning the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Lampen, Senior Griffen Antal, Senior Marco Venturato, and Freshman Drew Mendians posting the top time for the 200 Freestyle Relay, and Senior Zach Lee, Thompson, Mendians and Adamczak taking the 400 Freestyle Relay.
The Chips return to competition on Friday, March 5th, facing off against Ludington in the final dual meet of the season. The meet starts at 6pm, and will include a ceremony honoring this year’s graduating seniors.
