MAPS Pre-School and GSRP Students traveled to the moon and back with Sesame Street’s Big Bird, Elmo, and Hu Hu Zhu and their teachers and staff (Ms. Ludwig, Ms. Hiipakka, Ms. Brown, and Ms. Struble), as a part of their SPACE DAY activities!

Our Little Chips’ eyes were twinkling like stars as they had fun exploring the stars, moon, planet Earth and cross-cultures, viewing the special show — “One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure” — displayed on the sky of the mobile, inflatable Planetarium dome.

According to PNC Manistee Branch Manager, Chelsea Harvey and PNC Staff Neza and C.C., the PNC program, “Grow Up Great,” is a bilingual, multi-year initiative that began in 2004 to help prepare children for success in school and life. The education goals provide the young students with an age-appropriate introduction to astronomy, encourage positive attitudes toward science, and foster cross-cultural appreciation among children.

The MAPS Family appreciates the generosity of PNC Bank for bringing the Planetarium Show to our PreSchool & GSRP Students. Ms. Ludwig said all of the Students were “OVER THE MOON” with their SPACE DAY adventures.
